07/16/2010 Thursday Throwback # 7 Wild Card

Here is this week's challenge from Emma at www.creativetimeforme.com:  "The theme for this week is "Your Favorite Holiday" theme & for this challenge, you would need to make a card!".   The cartridge that we are using is Wild Card.  I was pumped to use it for the first time.

I love Thanksgiving- I was born in Canada where our Thxgiving is in October- the perfect time for brisk fall walks in the woods.  I added a few maple leaves to the card to represent my Canuck side. (They sparkle with Gold as did the Canadian Men's & Women's Hockey teams in Vancouver last year. Woo hoo!!!)

Thx Emma- this was fun!!

Recipe:

Cricut Wild Card Cartridge
Gypsy (I welded the leaves to the card shape to give the base some strength.  Then I cut out the leaves from the patterned paper I used.)

MPS Design Team Entry- Aquarium Layout

Here is my entry for the 2nd round of the MPS Design Team.  I am not a blogger so doing these challenges are really kinda cool.  The picture I chose to scrapbook was taken a couple weeks ago on a family vacation in Vancouver.  This photo was taken in the dark & I loved how it turned out.

The shimmery paper from DCWV Citrus Stack was perfect for the water feels I wanted.  I decided to crimp the green paper to give it a more rich look.  I also used pop dots to give it a lift.  The jelly fish from Create A Critter were so cute I just had to incorporate them.  Hope you enjoy it

06/13/2010 Creative Time for Me Throwback Thursday #2

This challenge was to create a card using a "vintage" Cricut cartridge while incorporating the colors of red, blue & brown.  I find those colors pretty ordinary as I have red-haired, blue-eyed children who wear a lot of brown!  I decided to create a card that was simple yet fun.  Enjoy!
